🔴 LIVE Rangers vs. Cardinals REDBIRDS WANT GAME 2! - Play by Play & Reaction | Game 61 of 162 [IbMBY9tBCHD]

Tonight is game two of a three game set for the St. Louis Cardinals (31-27) hosting the Texas Rangers (29-31) down at Busch Stadium. Last night Jacob deGrom (4-4, 3.48 ERA) out dueled Michael McGreevy (3-5, 2.98 ERA), when the legendary right-hander went 5.0 IP and allowed zero earned runs. Yet a new day dawns at Busch Stadium. On the mound for the Redbirds tonight is RHP Dustin May (3-6, 4.57 ERA), who is his last start against Milwaukee very memorably took a no-hitter into the eighth inning up at American Family Field. The Cardinals ended up spoiling that effort by May, walking away with a 2-1 loss. This evening the Cardinals seek to far better support May, and also hope that his performance last time was a positive pivot point for May's 2026 campaign overall - which has otherwise been wanting. Starting for the Texas Rangers tonight is RHP Nathan Eovaldi (5-6, 3.93 ERA), who starting for Texas this year has largely been extremely true to his career numbers. Eovaldi's previous start against Houston saw him go 7.0 IP, while allowing 5 earned runs over that stint. While it was not Eovaldi's worst start of the 2026 campaign, it is an outing that he would surely like to put behind him with a strong start against the Cardinals this evening. Can the Cardinals put last night's lackluster offensive effort behind them? Will the Redbirds better support another solid effort from Dustin May if it comes? Can Dustin May build off the tremendous success of his previous effort last week against the Brewers?
