His official time of death was 6:24pm local time. When asked if he'd like to speak any last words, while strapped to the gurney and directing his attention to the family of the police officer he killed, he stated: "To his family, I sincerely apologize for what I’ve done. There is no way I can repay that with this death, it will never repay that. And in turn pray my father give me strength to ask their forgiveness so I can go on my journey.
