🔴 LIVE Cardinals vs. Twins REDBIRDS IN MINNESOTA! - Play by Play & Reaction | Game 69 of 162 [kBl5W4HdYwu]

This evening the St. Louis Cardinals (37-29) travel to Target Field and take on the Minnesota Twins (31-39). The Cards are coming off a series win against the Mets at Citi Field, and tonight they begin the final series of their current road trip before returning home this coming Monday to play the San Diego Padres. Starting for the Redbirds this evening is RHP Kyle Leahy (5-3, 4.42 ERA), who has been clearly wanting regarding his most recent performances starting on the mound. In his most recent start against the Reds, he went 4.0 IP and allowed 3 earned runs. Prior to that against the Cubs, Leahy went 4.1 IP and allowed a single earned run. While these are not by any means examples of Leahy imploding on the mound during his starts, he still hasn't been terribly effective and the lengths of his starts have been underwhelming. Indeed in his last start against the Reds, Leahy as well as the Cardinals overall, were bailed out due to a brilliant long relief outing by RHP Hunter Dobbins. Surely the Cards are not interested in providing a caddy out of the bullpen to fulfill that particular role. On the bump for the Minnesota Twins is RHP Joe Ryan (4-3, 3.07 ERA), a 30 year old right hander having a very solid season for the Twins in 2026. In his previous six starts, Ryan has gone at least 6.0 innings for Minnesota. Moreover, Ryan is pitching to well over a strike out per inning. This will be a legitimate challenge for the thriving Cardinals offense coming into tonight. Additionally it came down this afternoon that Blaze Jordan, a Cardinals top infield prospect, has been promoted to the big league club and is making his debut tonight at 3rd base, hitting 8th in the order. Nolan Goman who has been struggling mightily at the plate has been optioned down to AAA himself. Can the Cardinals offense continue its strong stretch tonight against Joe Ryan? How will Blaze Jordan fair at both the plate and at 3rd in his debut? Join Paul D. for the full play by play, with scheduled first pitch set for 7:10 PM CST.
