Will Hurricane Genevieve Make Landfall? [BCCOkhAP75U]
--~-- Will Hurricane Genevieve Make Landfall? Genevieve formed on Sunday about 11 a.m. EDT as Tropical Depression 12E. Six hours later, by 5 p.m. EDT, it had strengthened into a tropical storm and was renamed Tropical Storm Genevieve. The storm continued to intensify rapidly and by 11 a.m. EDT yesterday, it strengthened to a hurricane. Currently, Genevieve is moving northwest at 16MPH and will pass dangerously close to the tip of Baja California. A slight shift in wind or direction, could cause landfall. However, on its current course, will pass just off the coast during the day on Thursday with tropical storm force winds and high surf over much of the peninsula. There are still several other storms to watch but none as significant as Hurricane Genevieve at this time. Travel and Cruise Industry News, August 18, 2020.
