Pinky Lee (Pincus Leff 1907-1993 ) was a comedian and 1950's kids show host who got his start as a burlesque comedian. It was a high energy show to say the least in 1954 it was on a list of shows that were “unfit” for children. He was beset by parental complaints that his show was causeing their children to misbehave and wanted NBC tone down Pinky's show. In 1955 a severe sinus attack caused Pinky to collapse on stage, this was a live tv remember. This along with the parental complaints spelled doom for this over the top show. The rest his career was spent on the The Ed Sullivan Show, Bob Hope specials, game shows, and the burlesque and dinner theater circuit. Years later he would be reborn as Pee Wee Herman (aka Paul Reubens) who was most assuredly a spiritual grandson.
