CNBC & Bloomberg On NVIDIA Stock, Micron Stock, SK Hynix Stock, CXMT - NVDA Update Hosts of CNBC and Bloomberg discuss NVIDIA, NVIDIA stock (NVDA stock), Micron, Micron stock (MU stock), SK Hynix (SKHY stock), and CXMT. Monday was a rough day for many tech hardware stocks following multiple news stories. The WSJ reported that NVIDIA is in talks with OpenAI to guarantee $250B in financing for a 10 GW datacenter project in Ohio. It was also reported that NVIDIA is in talks to finance $350B in OpenAI's chip purchases. It's important to remember that, if this story is true, NVIDIA would provide the money over the course of many years; the first phase of 800 MW (which is only 8% of the total project) is expected to be operational in 2028. Also overnight, China's CXMT IPO'd in China and traded more than 400% higher on its first trading day, raising at least $8.6B. Market participants expect CXMT to use a large portion of the funds to bring additional memory capacity online. Also on Monday morning, The Information published a story claiming that an unnamed Chinese company is mass producing immersion DUV systems domestically in China. We don't know if that story is true or not. If true, the reported expected production numbers are far below what ASML already sells in China. Overall, I think the selling in stocks like NVIDIA, Micron, ASML, and others on Monday was largely overdone. Also over the weekend, Jensen Huang spoke with Bloomberg, saying that he expects the buildout to continue in a "throttled way" for a decade due to supply constraints throughout the supply chain. Jensen indicated that the industry has the ability to double each year, but can't grow much faster than that given the constraints. Also on Monday, NVIDIA announced a long-term partnership with SSI, along with an investment of an undisclosed amount. Reuters reported that NVIDIA invested $5B in SSI. Looking ahead, we have more hyperscale earnings. Meta and Microsoft earnings are both scheduled for July 29, 2026. And Amazon earnings are scheduled for July 30, 2026. Overall, I expect each of the major four hyperscale companies to report strong CapEx guidance this earnings season due to multiple reasons. I continue to be bullish on NVIDIA long-term. NVIDIA has multiple large long-term growth opportunities in front of it. Sovereign AI, enterprise AI, AI-native startups, physical AI, and quantum computing are all large long-term growth opportunities for NVIDIA. Blackwell Ultra has ramped quickly and remains in high demand. Vera Rubin is on track to launch in 2026. We're expecting NVIDIA Groq 3 LPX in the second half of 2026. Then, we're expecting Rubin Ultra in 2027. And later on, we're expecting NVIDIA's Feynman in 2028. We have a clear datacenter product roadmap extending into 2028, and Jensen Huang believes there will be $3T-$4T of global AI factory buildout annually by the end of the decade.
