Artist, Melissa Bartlett, introduces us to an inspirational pioneer in the art world, Betye Saar, who will be 100 years old in July 2026. I had the honor of being a part of the inaugural cohort of Look What She's Doing! spearheaded by Sarah Moshman. 12 filmmakers were chosen for a two-week workshop where we not only learned how to operate a camera, including lighting and sound, but also walked away with a 5 minute documentary film that we produced, directed and shot ourselves. These films are now a part of the Look What She Did! body of work which focuses on inspiring women who paved the way for so many.
