At 9:50 last night, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick posted a video saying five chandail canadien words worth half a trillion dollars: TSMC just committed another $100 billion to the United States at least four more 2-nanometer fabs in Arizona, twelve leading-edge facilities in all, $265 billion total. Add Micron's $250 billion pledge from last week (with the largest chip manufacturing site in US history rising outside Syracuse) and his math checks out: $515 billion from two companies.
