Every major forecast model now agrees it will strengthen into a strong, and likely "super," event by winter, with sea-surface temperatures in parts of the eastern Pacific running off the charts. Tonight we walk through exactly what the data shows, what a super El Nio does to every continent, and why scientists say 2026 has no clean historical precedent.

NOAA issued its official El Nio advisory on June 11, 2026 the event is confirmed and underway after an unusually rapid spring warming of the equatorial Pacific
