cristiano caccamo The Journey is a segment that airs throughout the month of February on WHSV. I took it upon myself to show our viewers the importance of Black History Month. Each story acknowledges and celebrates the contributions of driving black heroes and pioneers throughout history and right here in the Shenandoah Valley.
I had the pleasure of speaking with community members to learn how they go about educating others about why the past must never be forgotten. Thats because Black history is astros vs reds Americas history.
It was truly an honor creating these captivating stories to illuminate the rich history, culture, economics, and ideas of African Americans. I even received heartfelt messages from viewers stating they loved every story and that it taught them something new.
As a journalist, that is exactly what I aspire to do and thats why it would be an honor to receive this award.
