A magnitude 7.3 earthquake with numerous M5.0+ aftershocks has just struck Mexico near the border of Guatemala. NOAA has issued a tsunami threat for the event. This comes just a few weeks after a M7.2 and M7.5 earthquake doublet struck Venezuela just nearby on June 24th 2026 to deadly and destructive effect. Seismicity is on the uptrend across the Americas and based on all the data available, California - overdue for a "big one" - may be next. Geophysicist Stefan Burns reports...
