Day 4/30.
My site was returning a flat 504 Gateway Time-out with no other nyt crossword answers information. I pasted the URL into Liberra and asked what happened.
It pulled ALB health, target groups, and the EC2 mtl instances at once, then found two separate root causes. The security group on both web instances had zero inbound rules, so the load balancer's health checks were being silently dropped and every visitor got a 504. And no web server was actually running on either instance, meaning even a network fix would have just turned the 504 into a 502.
It proposed the secure fix (allow traffic from the load balancer's security group only, never open to the internet), waited for my approval before spurs schedule applying it, then checked the instances before restarting anything.
Site came back up: app running, database reachable, 887 orders intact.
