Tyson Pedro ANNOUNCES He Will Return To The UFC... Welcome back to Sporting Dose, today on the channel we are going to talk about Tyson Pedro returning from a 4 year hiatus, trains with Israel Adesanya, excited to “get punched in the head” again + other related news. UFC star Tyson Pedro has had plenty of time to reflect on how much he enjoys “getting punched in the head” during a difficult few years dominated by a horror run of injuries. After winning three of his first five professional fights in the UFC, where he proved himself to be a rising star, disaster struck as he tore his ACL in a loss to Mauricio Rua in Adelaide. The Australian was forced to watch on from the sidelines for more than three and a half years, with a terrible series of knee injuries stalling a once promising career. But he always believed that he was “supposed to be back” in the UFC, as he made a valiant return to the Octagon against American Ike Villanueva in April. Pedro capped off his incredible return to the UFC with a convincing first-round TKO win, after having Villanueva vulnerable up against the cage with 10 seconds to run on the clock. Speaking ahead of his return to a pay-per-view card vs Harry Hunsucker at UFC 278 on Sunday, Pedro has opened up about how difficult the time away from fighting was for both him and his family. Commentators went crazy as the relentless Australian dominated his opponent in the final stages, before the referee intervened. Fuelled by adrenaline and emotion, Pedro walked to the middle of the Octagon and let out a yell as be began to celebrate his triumphant return. “Initially it was hard because I still wanted to keep fighting after I finished the fight, like if you watch it back I’m still in the moment, I just wanted to fight everyone still,” he added. The light heavyweight fighter has had two three-month training camps on the Gold Coast and in New Zealand, meaning that he’s been away from home for half of his daughter’s life.
