इस वक्त की एक बहुत बड़ी खबर जापान से आ रही है जहाँ कुमामोटो प्रीफेक्चर में विनाशकारी भूकंप आया है। अब से थोड़ी देर पहले जापान के कुमामोटो के उकी सिटी के पास भूकंप का एक बेहद भीषण झटका महसूस किया गया। रिक्टर स्केल पर इस भूकंप की तीव्रता 7.1 मापी गई है। जापानी मौसम विज्ञान एजेंसी (JMA) के मुताबिक, ये भूकंप ज़मीन से सिर्फ 10 किलोमीटर की गहराई पर आया। भूकंप का केंद्र बेहद उथला होने के कारण झटके बेहद तेज़ थे। कुमामोटो के उकी शहर और हिकावा टाउन में जापान के तीव्रता पैमाने यानी 'शिंदो स्केल' पर झटके अधिकतम स्तर 7 दर्ज किए गए हैं—जो तबाही का सबसे बड़ा स्तर माना जाता है। इसके अलावा क्युशू द्वीप के फुकुओका, नागासाकी और कागोशिमा जैसे कई अन्य प्रांतों में भी तेज़ झटके महसूस किए गए हैं। भूकंप के तुरंत बाद प्रशासन ने आरियाके सागर और यात्सुशिरो सागर के तटीय इलाकों के लिए सुनामी एडवाइजरी जारी कर दी है। Major news is coming in from Japan, where a devastating earthquake has struck Kumamoto Prefecture. A powerful earthquake tremor was felt a short while ago near Uki City in Kumamoto. The earthquake measured 7.1 on the Richter scale. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the quake occurred at a depth of just 10 kilometers. Because the epicenter was very shallow, the tremors were extremely intense. In Uki City and Hikawa Town (Kumamoto), the shaking reached the maximum level of 7 on Japan's seismic intensity scale—known as the 'Shindo scale'—which signifies the highest level of devastation. Strong tremors were also felt in other prefectures on Kyushu Island, such as Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Kagoshima.
