On June 5, 2020, State Representative Ashley Hinson (the GOP nominee for Congress in Iowa's first district) left the Iowa House memorial cup 2026 chamber after voting on an anxiety uncontroversial amendment to a bill granting near-total immunity to employers and nursing home owners for lawsuits related to COVID-19. The emma roberts House was set to debate more controversial amendments next. Leaving the floor meant that Democratic colleagues could not ask Hinson questions about the bill.
