Bennett Stirtz carried much of Iowas mitchell robinson scoring during the 2025-26 season, leaving a major hole in the Hawkeyes offense.

With 10 returners and four newcomers scrimmaging every day during summer practices, head coach Ben McCollum said he feels good about how the team looks for the first 35 minutes of games. But he is still trying to figure out the final five minutes.

The returners know how difficult it will nathan mackinnon be to fill that role, but they are confident they have the players to get the job done.

The addition of 7-foot-3 Andrew McKeever gives Iowa more size, which was one of the key elements the Hawkeyes were missing in Big Ten play last season.

While McCollum has a handful of players who could fill the lead guard role, fourth-year guard Kael Combs is among the most likely options. After the tournament, McCollum told Combs he would be taking on a big role, giving him a confidence motocicletta boost.
