CNBC On NVIDIA Stock, Micron Stock, SK Hynix Stock - NVDA Update Hosts of CNBC discuss NVIDIA, NVIDIA stock (NVDA stock), Micron, Micron stock (MU stock), SK Hynix, SK Hynix stock (SKHY stock) amid a sell-off in many chip stocks. On Tuesday, the FT published a report that NVIDIA is behind a $50B lease on a Hut 8 datacenter in Texas. It's important to keep in mind that the $50B figure would be spread out over 30 years if the renewal is exercised, or $20B over 15 years if it's not exercised (both scenarios would be less than $2B per year). NVIDIA needs compute capacity to train and serve their own models. They do not manufacture their products. It makes sense for NVIDIA to rent capacity from other companies in order to avoid unnecessary additional risks such as securing land and power, datacenter construction, local permitting, etc. Jensen Huang visited Washington to speak with lawmakers and the commerce secretary about the importance of open source and open weight AI, NVIDIA's US investments, and US leadership in AI. SK Hynix reported earnings Wednesday morning in South Korea (so Tuesday evening in the US). SK Hynix missed consensus estimates on revenue and operating profit. Still, revenue was up 257% YoY, and operating profit was up 557% YoY. SK Hynix results were very strong, and they indicated that customer demand continues to exceed supply. SK Hynix said mass HBM4 shipments began in Q2, and they are working to bring on additional capacity (comments about additional capacity spooked some market participants). Looking ahead, we have more hyperscale earnings. Meta and Microsoft earnings are both scheduled for July 29, 2026. And Amazon earnings are scheduled for July 30, 2026. Overall, I expect each of the major four hyperscale companies to report strong CapEx guidance this earnings season due to multiple reasons. I continue to be bullish on NVIDIA long-term. NVIDIA has multiple large long-term growth opportunities in front of it. Sovereign AI, enterprise AI, AI-native startups, physical AI, and quantum computing are all large long-term growth opportunities for NVIDIA. Blackwell Ultra has ramped quickly and remains in high demand. Vera Rubin is on track to launch in 2026. We're expecting NVIDIA Groq 3 LPX in the second half of 2026. Then, we're expecting Rubin Ultra in 2027. And later on, we're expecting NVIDIA's Feynman in 2028. We have a clear datacenter product roadmap extending into 2028, and Jensen Huang believes there will be $3T-$4T of global AI factory buildout annually by the end of the decade.
