AWS Outage in UAE: Two AZs Completely Down [RxanVFPInDR]
Two Availability Zones are down. And this isn’t a routine glitch. Amazon Web Services reported a major outage in the ME-CENTRAL-1 region after objects reportedly struck a UAE data center, triggering a fire and forcing a power shutdown across two Availability Zones. Services including EC2, S3, and DynamoDB are experiencing high error rates. New instances cannot be launched. AWS expects recovery to take at least a day. This is a real-world reminder of distributed systems design. Single region is convenience. Multi-region is survival. If your architecture doesn’t account for regional failure, it’s not resilient, it’s optimistic.
