The 2012 Atlantic Hurricane Season was an active and destructive season, and is notable for the monstrous Hurricane Sandy which devastated the eastern coast of the United States, as well as Cuba and the Bahamas. Sandy became the largest tropical cyclone in Atlantic history with its 1,150 mile-wide tropical storm force wind field.
