Jalen Duren has been DISRESPECTED... [xN1I7RXeLRM]
#nba In this video I break down the Walker Kessler and Jalen Duren situation and why it makes absolutely no sense to me. Kessler played in only five games last season and still cashed in on a massive four year deal worth around 130 million, while Duren made All NBA, earned an All Star nod, and carried his team to the second round of the playoffs yet still has not seen a single offer sheet. I get into why playing might actually be the biggest curse in a contract year and why sitting out lets teams fall in love with your theoretical value instead of judging your real production. I also give my honest reaction to the Lakers trading their 2031 and 2033 first round picks plus swaps for Kessler, a deal I think is one of the worst we have seen, even worse than the Jaylen Brown trade. I talk about how the Jazz fleeced them, why those picks and swaps are going to hurt, and whether Rob Pelinka made this move just to keep Luka happy without thinking through the ramifications. At the end of the day my argument is simple. The NBA has become a speculation market where teams pay for hypothetical growth stocks like Kessler instead of proven dividend stocks like Duren, who gives you twenty points and eleven rebounds every night. If Duren does not get paid more than Kessler, the league is broken.
