Your 6 p.m. Greater Cleveland and Northeast giant Ohio weather forecast for June 9, 2023: The Air Quality Alert has been extended in Northeast Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to result in periodic haze through midnight Saturday.

With that said, our rain-free streak ends this weekend and we are certain our lawns and crops will thank Mother Nature for it.

Over the next few days, we dance around with pressure systems as high pressure the next 24 hours escapes to our south allowing for the development of an area of low pressure to move in Sunday through early next week. THIS is the system that will douse the area with much needed rain. Some models are indicating moderate to heavy rain and even some rumbles leading into Monday.

Also for those that are wondering, yes, this will provide some air quality relief and perhaps allergen relief as well.
