SOUNDBITE (English) Genesis Rodriguez, actor – on joining "Lioness" season 2: “The fan reaction has been amazing. They're suspicious of Josie. They like Josie. I'm just so grateful and honored they're watching. I poured my heart and soul into that character. So, if people are watching it, that's all I can hope for.” 4. SOUNDBITE (English) Genesis Rodriguez, actor – on training for "Lioness" season 2: “I had just two big aspects of training. One was the physicality of it. I put on, like, a lot of muscle. So, I would train six days a week, hour and a half just to put on muscle, because really to handle a helicopter, you have to have a lot of strength. You know, you have to take your helicopter by the tail, move it, you have to be very agile, strong. But not only that, I had helicopter training. So, I learned how to fly. And that was one of the aspects of this job I thought we were going to do on a green screen. But no, a lot of it was me doing the shots and me doing the stunts of, you know, shooting people while flying in the air. And that is life changing, to say the least.” 6. SOUNDBITE (English) Genesis Rodriguez, actor – on training for ‘Lioness’ season 2: “I didn't know how far I could go in terms of strength, physical ability. Like, I really pushed myself with this character. It's a big departure of who I am. I used to be, I don't know, ‘pilates girlie’ or – I was more of a sloth. But my routine really did something to myself, just putting in that effort for myself, putting myself first – that little act, that ritual was really helpful for everything else in my life. It just, it really builds strength and endurance to handle anything that comes your way.” 8. SOUNDBITE (English) Genesis Rodriguez, actor – on "Lioness" season 2: “I just love that this show is showing all types of women and in these circumstances where they're juggling families, where they're juggling, you know, their day to day lives, but also sacrificing their lives here every day, which is a huge, huge circumstance. And these three women, you know, they're so different. But it's, honestly it's amazing to see an empowering female-led TV show, and it's an honor to be a part of it. And we're representing a community of women who are serving this country, and we hope to represent them well.” 10. SOUNDBITE (English) Genesis Rodriguez, actor – on Zoe Saldaña: “I have been a fan of hers my entire life. And I always – I actually have people who send me on my Instagram, like, tags or videos of myself, like maybe 15 years ago saying, ‘Who's your favorite actor? And I would say Zoe Saldaña. ‘Who's your fashion icon?’ I always say Zoe Saldaña. And I see those videos now and I'm like, Wow, I like manifested this because I was always in awe of her. And then to be able to share screen time with her, like, she surpassed any expectation I ever had with any actor ever. Like, she's so generous and present and just giving you everything in every take. And I feel like without that, like, there is no chemistry. Like, she really gives it everything. She's an incredible number one. And if I was a fan before, I mean, I'm even more of her fan now. I adore her.” STORYLINE: Genesis Rodriguez is the new girl on the block in “Lioness,” joining Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman in the second season of the popular show. Genesis’ character, US Army Apache pilot Captain Josephina Carrillo - known as Josie - has been recruited for a special mission.
