Representative Madeleine Dean grilled Todd Blanche on the Epstein files, presenting what she called proof that Donald Trump lied about being on Jeffrey Epstein's plane. Republican chairman Hal Rogers cut her off before her time expired. Thomas Massie separately announced he intends to start naming prominent names from the Epstein co-conspirator files, warning that some should be in prison. Trump appointed Elias Erizari, a convicted January 6th rioter and former Citadel student, to a sensitive counterterrorism role inside the Pentagon's Special Operations office. In a separate move, Bill Pulte, a mortgage and real estate executive with zero intelligence experience, was named acting Director of National Intelligence, despite a law requiring substantial intelligence experience for the role. DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullin refused to give Senator Chris Murphy a straight yes or no answer on whether he would comply with federal court orders. Murphy laid out how DHS violated court orders 96 times in a single state and how DHS paid over $120 million for properties previously valued at a fraction of that price.
