🚨South Koreas Stock Market JUST RALLIED 15% After 44% CRASH In 24 HRS! [G63x5vUe14d]
On Thursday morning Seoul time, the South Korean stock market, called the KOSPI, surged nearly fifteen percent in a single trading session. That is not a typo. Fifteen percent, in one day, on the same index that had lost forty four percent of its value over the previous forty trading days, erasing roughly two trillion dollars of market capitalization and dropping South Korea from being the sixth largest stock market on earth to the eleventh. Entire countries are now trading like meme stocks. Leveraged retail exchange traded funds in South Korea have lost thirty seven billion dollars in assets under management over the past thirty days, a seventy percent collapse from their all time high, back to sixteen billion dollars, which is the lowest reading since April. That same category was up over five hundred percent since the start of twenty twenty six before the crash. According to Goldman Sachs, more than one point two million Korean retail brokerage accounts triggered margin calls as of July thirteenth, with somewhere between three hundred twenty thousand and three hundred sixty thousand accounts fully liquidated. That works out to three point four percent of the adult population of South Korea. Since July thirteenth, the KOSPI has fallen another eighteen percent before today's bounce, and current estimates suggest the total number of fully liquidated accounts has now exceeded five hundred thousand.
