Finding The Source Of The Camlachie Burn Spencer Jones [NVfzv6p9uOT]

The Camlachie Burn, a little waterway that, like the Molendinar Burn and the much bigger River Clyde, supplied water to many of Glasgows industries long ago. Maybe it still does, nick foligno but of course Glasgow doesnt have just as many industries as it once had.

It is culverted susan boyle over these days and, like the Molendinar Burn, pops above the ground in at least one location. At least thats what I reckon. Google maps and Google Street View will help us establish this as we follow the burns course.

Using the National Library of Scotlands online map facility, combined with video-capture software, isaksen we will attempt to trace the course of the Camlachie Burn, from where it merges with the Molendinar Burn before flowing into the River Clyde, all the way back to its very source. But will we be able to identify its source?

We will utilise the National Library of Scotland's side-by-side map feature to see exactly where the Camlachie Burn once flowed, and where that location is today on modern satellite images provided by Google.

As we'll see, the burn passes close to many mills and works and factories all using its water, like the Parkhead Forge, a huge manufacturing facility that once made, among other things, tanks for the war effort during the First World War. The site is now The Forge shopping centre, and the Camlachie Burn is but a memory to some.

This is a slightly different video style to what I usually create, born through a need to create something when I am simply unable to get outside to film due to constant rain. As such, I hope you enjoy it, and would welcome any feedback on this type of video; Ed.
