In Dobbins last start with the big league club back on July 7th against the Milwaukee Brewers, he went 5.0 IP, allowing 4 hits, 3 earned runs, 4 strikeouts and took the loss that day. In general, Hunter Dobbins has been serviceable in that swingman roll for the Cardinals - with long spells down in AAA Memphis. Dobbins start today allows every member of the regular 5 man rotation to get an additional day of rest in this turn, as the Cardinals front office is no doubt being extremely mindful of load management in terms of innings for the remainder of the year for players like McGreevy and Pallante.
