50-Year-Old Snowcat To Reach Our Cabin | Remote Alaska The Deal [b8tErhPL5Jm]

The road into our homestead is steep, remote, and one of the hardest things to keep open through the winter. Up what boxing is on tonight until now, weve been relying on an ATV and plowbut in deep snow, drifting, and extreme cold, its a constant fight and not a long-term solution.

We needed europa something more capable and ideally, something that could serve multiple roles beyond just plowing.

Thats what led us to this 1970s Snow Trac.

Its old, worn, and far from perfectbut machines like this were built for exactly these conditions.

If it works, this isnt just a cool old machineit could solve one of the biggest ongoing problems on our homestead:

consistent winter access.

And beyond that, it could open up new possibilitieswinter hunting, ice fishing, maintaining horse trails, hauling supplies through deep powder, and reaching parts of the backcountry that are currently difficult or impossible to access.
