Pirates Rookie Hits 3 Homers And His First Grand Slam In Same Day [sy4qtK2FLqa]
Pirates rookie Esmerlyn Valdez hit 3 home runs in two wins over the Brewers … just weeks after being demoted to the minors. The 22-year-old right fielder hit a seventh inning grand slam, his first in the majors, and drove in 6 runs in Pittsburgh’s earlier 7-6 victory over Milwaukee. In the later game, he opened the scoring with a two-run shot in the fourth, and now has 10 homers and 26 RBI in his first 27 career games. Valdez signed with the Pirates as an international free agent in 2021 and worked his way through the minor leagues. He was called up in May and had two homers in six games, but they were his only two hits. Esmerlyn was sent back down to the Indianapolis Indians but then brought back in mid June. The Pirates are 49-47 and in fourth place in the NL Central. Photos/videos: @pirates @esmerlynvaldez27 Music: @viralnoisemusic
