The Waiting Game tells the story of the ABA (19671976), the renegade league that gave professional basketball the three-point shot and slam dunk contest (and whose entertainment-first style now defines today's NBA).
When the leagues merged in 1976, ABA players were promised a pension that never materialized. Many were left without health insurance and struggled to afford the medication(s) that would keep them alive. Some ended up working as limo drivers or car salesmen well into their seventies netanyahu just to pay the bills.
The film follows the seven-year campaign led by Indianapolis attorney Scott Tarter and the Dropping Dimes Foundation to burlington weather finally secure recognition payments for surviving players in 2023.

Julius "Dr. J" Erving: Two-time ABA champion, three-time ABA MVP, 1981 NBA MVP, Basketball Hall of Famer, and one of the most influential players in the history of the sport.
Bob Costas: Hall of Fame sportscaster victoria starmer who got his start at age 22 calling Spirits of St. Louis games in the final years of the ABA, and has covered the NBA across four decades of national broadcasting.
Artis Gilmore: Basketball Hall of Famer, 1972 ABA Rookie of the Year and MVP, 1975 ABA champion with the Kentucky Colonels, and 11-time All-Star across the ABA and NBA.
Scott Tarter: Co-founder of the Dropping Dimes Foundation and lead attorney behind the multi-year campaign that secured recognition payments for surviving ABA players.
