When Flock Cameras Decide You’re Guilty... [U0RItixq5ad]

What happens when an automated surveillance system flags your vehicle, gets it completely wrong, and leaves you responsible for proving your innocence? In this video, I share two personal experiences that shattered my trust in automated camera systems. The first time, I received a ticket after another driver sped past me—but the image only showed my vehicle. Fighting it could have cost more than simply paying, so I paid and moved on. The second time was harder to ignore. Years after moving out of Colorado, I received an official payment demand for something that supposedly happened there—even though I was living several states away, had changed my license plate, registration, insurance, and driver’s license, and had not lived in Colorado for three years. I had to gather the evidence and prove that the system was wrong. Those experiences made me question the growing network of Flock cameras and other automated surveillance technology. These systems can record license plates, track identifying features of vehicles, share information across jurisdictions, and become connected to larger law-enforcement networks. The concern is not only that cameras are watching. The bigger issue is what happens when the technology makes a mistake, the accusation looks official, and an ordinary person has to spend time and money proving they did nothing wrong. We also discuss private cameras being shared with law enforcement, the lack of public oversight, possible misuse of surveillance databases, and the growing “shadow grid” being built around communities without many people realizing it. Are Flock cameras appearing in your area? Have you ever been wrongly flagged, ticketed, or accused by an automated system? Share your experience in the comments.
