Dave Flemming called in live from Augusta where he is covering the Masters for ESPN and spent 15 minutes giving the most honest Giants assessment of the week. On Susac and Bailey — the Giants need to consider divvying up the catching time differently than they planned. Susac barreling the ball pull side and to the other way has been outstanding. This is not an indictment of Bailey. It is just the reality that Susac has given this team a jolt when they really needed one. He has a laid back personality that keeps him from putting pressure on himself — and that is working. On the bullpen — save last night's game as a textbook example of fluid usage. Walker came in high leverage, did his job, and by the time Keegan Win got the ninth it was a 6-nothing game with three outs to go. Three left handers getting exposed against righties under the current rules is a problem that will need to be addressed. On the outfield — Fleming is very concerned. Ramos, Lee, and Baeter are hitting a combined .167 with six extra base hits total. Ramos's strikeout rate is the scary part — that stat becomes predictive earlier than almost any other. On Devers — he is not himself but the indicator to watch is left field swings. When he goes to left with authority his swing is getting good and last night was a good sign. On Bryce Eldridge — defense at first has been unacceptable and it is possible that Eldridge's improved defense is what forces the Giants' hand.
