The Pricing Strategy Slowly Killing Amazon Products Coco Gauff [HCL20J75bTI]

Selling on Amazon is turkish airlines easy (anyone can do it), but making a profit on Amazon is MUCH harder. In this video, we explore the Amazon pricing strategy that could be slowly killing your product.

Amazon FBA 2026 is a very competitive environment and almost every niche is saturated with Chinese sellers. The main weapon these sellers have is price and they rely on regular price cuts to boost ranks.

I call this Yo Yo pricing, as it reflects the price constantly going up and down. By temporarily cutting the price a product usually enjoys improved CTR (click through rate), CVR (conversion rate) and sales velocity. These 3 metrics are critical for ranking on Amazon.

This strategy works for Chinese sellers as they have much lower costs, so can still sell profitably at lower prices on Amazon FBA UK. Unfortunately, for UK Amazon private label sellers this can create a death spiral for their Amazon product.

Amazon now allows customers to see the price history for any product. If a seller has been using Yo Yo pricing to sell on Amazon, customers can clearly see if the current price is competitive or not. This leads to the scenario where, when a product isn't on offer, the customer can see the current price is higher than the recent offer which may put them off making the purchase.

This isn't an issue for Chinese sellers as they will continue to Yo Yo their pricing every couple of weeks. But for UK sellers, this often isn't a profitable strategy as Yo Yo pricing will reduce their long term average price so it isn't a pricing strategy you want to use frequently.

I'm not saying you shouldn't use Best Deals, but I think they should be used sparingly. Or instead, potentially experimenting with vouchers may be less risky as they aren't included in the price history.
