It has now been a week since Hurricane Helene ripped through Western North Carolina with torrential rain and hurricane-force winds, causing giro d'italia fatalities, power outages and a path of destruction.

These are the latest updates on the recovery efforts for Oct. 4, a week after the storm hit on Sept. 26-27.

AdventHealth Hendersonville said in an Oct. 4 news release that it is offering emergency and inpatient care, including ICU, behavioral health, lab and imaging services. Elective surgeries have been postponed to prioritize urgent care needs.
