The Air Quality Alert has been extended throughout Northeast Ohio through tonight as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to result in periodic haze and smoke-filled skies.

Otherwise it's another quiet night with lows settling back into the mid to upper 40s. Expect a similar day Friday to what we experienced today with highs near 70 and variable clouds mixed with some sunshine. A stray shower can't be ruled out mainly east.

Then the pattern starts changing. Finally! The low pressure responsible for this "stuck" pattern will move east allowing our next frontal boundary to move in. Saturday looks the sun uk dry and warm and Sunday looks mainly dry and very warm. Highs both days will push the 80s--warmest Sunday.

In terms of rain, our much-needed rain arrives late Sunday into Sunday night. A widespread area of showers and a few rumbles of thunder looks likely with soaking rains lasting into Monday. This system heads by Monday afternoon but the swirling low pressure portion swings through Tuesday with more showers lingering into Tuesday night and early Wednesday.
