R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court to affray over a confrontation at a Mayfair nightclub. The 37-year-old entered his plea in a hearing that lasted less than five minutes. Brown had been facing trial later this year after he hit a former friend twice over the head with a bottle on the dancefloor at the Tape private members’ club in 2023. The incident was described as a 'disgraceful, unprovoked assault that put a man in hospital,' by a Metropolitan Police Detective. He had been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Abraham Diaw and previously pleaded not guilty and denied having an offensive weapon – a bottle – in a public place, as well as a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
