The Green Bay Packers' schedule stood out when the NFL revealed its regular-season schedules last week. The Packers will face teams who are loaded with offensive weapons, which Colin Cowherd believes the Packers lack heading into the season. "It doesn’t rate as one of the hardest schedules but what do we know about Green Bay?" asked Cowherd on The Herd Monday. "They don’t have a No. 1 receiver. The league is increasingly a weapons league. Look at the teams they face. They are going to be at a major weapon disadvantage." The "weapon deficit" at wide receiver that Cowherd speaks to is determining whether Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, or Randall Cobb will emerge as Aaron Rodgers' preferred target. Lazard just had his best season yet, with 40 catches for 513 yards and eight touchdowns. Watkins joins the Packers after a single season with Baltimore, where he scored one touchdown. He hasn't scored more than three touchdowns in a single season since he had eight in 2017. And then there's Cobb. The 12-year veteran has the most experience and has spent the most of his career in Green Bay, but is he good enough to be the starter? He appeared in 12 games last season and scored five touchdowns. His longest reception was 54 yards, and he totaled 375 yards on 28 receptions. According to Cowherd, Lazard is the No. 1 choice, with the others being utilized on occasion. Cowherd stated, "I'd say they don't even have a No. 2." "I'm being courteous. Allen Lazard has the appearance of a No. 4. He had countless opportunities to throw to him last season, but he decided not to." Why did the Packers choose two defensive players in the first two rounds of the draft if they need offensive assistance so badly? "You're curious as to why they chose defense? Some of it stems from the fact that they believe Aaron has never truly trusted young receivers "Cowherd stated. "We don't have or can't afford a great seasoned receiver.
