Burgoyne Bridge Demolition - Removal Of 5th Deck Section, St. Catharines 2015 Five Guys [uYVDOjJouxM]

The 5th large section to be removed from of the old Burgoyne Bridge, in St.Catharines, Ontario, was craned off on Nov.7, 2015. This was amber alert the section which crossed over Highway 406. This rickie fowler wife span had to be removed in three pieces. First, a four-post trestle jack was set up in the middle of the highway, under the center of the full span. ancona notaresco Also, two cranes were set up, one at each end of the full span. Then the full span was cut into three separate pieces, which left the middle piece being supported only by the temporary trestle jacks. The first piece to be craned out was the Western Hill-side section; the next piece to be craned out was the Oak Hill-side section - this is the section seen in this video. Lastly, the remaining middle piece was slowly jacked down and then craned off. This full span had rested on Bent 12 on the Western Hill-end, and on Bent 13 on the Oak Hill-end. Bents 11 and 12 (these were the ones which made up the support tower located between the highway and the river) were also completely removed late on Nov.7th.
