The Golden State Valkyries are two games into their 2026 season and are already on a winning streak. On Sunday, they beat the Phoenix Mercury 95-79. Mission Local stopped by the Valkyries’ practice on Tuesday to see how they’re gearing up for their next game. We spoke with guard Veronica Burton, who reflected on highlights from Sunday’s game, and newly signed forward Ashten Prechtel, who attended her first practice and said her transition to the team has been smooth.
