Amazon Soars 15% While Apple Loses $475 BILLION | 30-Year Yield Hits 2007 High | Aug 1, 2026 [o4WcXBTIe3s]
Amazon delivered the biggest single boost to the Dow while Apple erased roughly $475 billion in market value that same session. Long-term Treasury yields hit levels last seen in 2007. And overseas, one major market posted its best day ever. Welcome to the Generational Wealth Community — your pathway from knowledge to legacy. We don't chase hype, we decode the market. 📊 IN THIS MORNING'S RECAP (Saturday, August 1, 2026): 🔹 BIG TECH SPLITS — Amazon closed Friday up roughly 15% on Q2 revenue near $200.6B, with AWS growing 37%, its fastest in 18 quarters. Apple fell about 7% despite a record June quarter, as September-quarter guidance landed below consensus on rising memory chip costs. Investors are rewarding companies converting AI spending into cloud revenue. 🔹 THE TAPE — S&P 500 +0.7% to 7,489. Nasdaq Composite +1%. Dow +277 points. For July, the Nasdaq still lost about 3%. 🔹 BONDS ARE THE PRESSURE POINT — The 30-year Treasury yield sat near 5.25%, the highest since 2007. The 10-year topped 4.7%. Futures price roughly a two-thirds chance of a Fed rate INCREASE in September. Higher yields raise the bar for every growth stock. 🔹 HISTORIC MOVE OVERSEAS — South Korea's Kospi jumped 17.9%, its largest single-day gain on record. SK Hynix rose about 30% and Samsung Electronics about 27% after trading halts. AI memory demand is the driver — but the Kospi still lost more than 22% in July, so chasing that move carries added risk. 🔹 COMMODITIES — WTI settled near $84.67, up over 1%, after Iran claimed attacks on two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, unconfirmed by Western maritime authorities. Brent settled around $90, capping a July gain above 20%. Gold slipped roughly 1.5% toward $4,040. 🔹 CRYPTO STAYED HEAVY — Bitcoin near $63,000, down about 1% on the day. Ethereum around $1,870. XRP near $1.06. Coinbase closed down roughly 10.5% after a $359 million quarterly loss. Spot bitcoin funds drew only about $205 million in July — the smallest monthly total on record. 🔹 THE TAKEAWAY — Capital appears to be rotating toward proven AI cash flows and energy, away from rate-sensitive and crypto-linked names. Attention turns to the July jobs report on Friday, August 7. 👉 We do a markets and crypto news video every morning.
