In late June 2024, I made a trip to the Cairngorms National Park, in the Scottish Highlands.

This was my longest backpacking / wild camping adventure so far, with a total of 8 days (plus 1 rest day) spent out on the trails.

The weather started out with glorious sunshine, but rapidly deteriorated into gale force winds and heavy rain. I wild camped for 3 nights, stayed in bothies (basic mountain huts) for 3 nights, and 1 night on a managed campsite.

Total distance: 128.7 miles / 207.1 kilometers

Total elevation gain: 29,121 feet / 8,876 metres

I summitted a total of 20 "Munros" (Scottish mountains above a specific height and prominence). This included 5 of the 6 highest, and 11 of the 21 highest, in the UK. These are listed below, in order climbed:
