Charley Hull on Fake 100K Prank: “If You Don’t Like It, Lump It” [olIrNWZm672]
Charley Hull has no regrets about the fake 100K scratch-card prank that made Adam believe he had won a life-changing amount of money. Asked whether she would turn back the clock and do it again, Hull’s answer was immediate: “Yeah, 100 percent.” Hull says Adam found the joke funny afterward and insists that anyone taking the prank too seriously needs to loosen up. “If people don’t like it, they can lump it.” She does admit that she felt bad for “Adsy” and promises to buy him 100 genuine scratch cards at the end of the week. She also hopes he earns significantly more money through their performance at the AIG Women’s Open. Hull reveals that she is largely unaware of the online reaction because she removes social media from her phone during tournament weeks. She reinstalls the apps when she returns home, but while competing she avoids comments, tags and outside noise to remain in the present moment. On the course, the English star experienced a very different emotion. Hull admits she was “super nervous” on the opening tee at Royal Lytham. Starting with an iron made the moment even more uncomfortable because she felt she needed to strike the shot perfectly, whereas a driver allows slightly more freedom under pressure. She responded by making a birdie, but an awkward yardage and a lack of conviction over the next approach led to a three-putt. Hull felt that several other putts should have fallen, but was satisfied with how she remained in the round despite the pressure of competing in front of her home crowd.
