UPDATE (TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2025): Samuel Smithers (72) was executed this evening in Florida. His official time of death was 6:15pm local time. Smithers declined to speak any last words, saying only "No, sir" when asked. He was served earlier a special final meal request that consisted of fried chicken, fried fish, a baked potato, apple pie with vanilla ice cream, and a sweet tea drink.
