A Great Week In My Alaska Shop Frances Tiafoe [ZihdBdHsuyW]

Two weeks. Long hours. One Alaska shop.

This week was all about making progress in the shop.

For nearly two weeks, my son and I spent long days in the shop building handcrafted log beds for a remote Alaska lodge. Most mornings started around 6 or 7 a.m., avatar and many nights didn't end until after 10. After nearly two weeks... I'm smoked.

Along the way, I saw a power pole failure outside the shop, my granddaughters spent several days helping in the shop, taking over the camera for a few minutes, and joining us for dinner each evening as the pile of finished beds kept growing.

This project is about more than building furniture. It's helping move the Volkswagen project forward, and part of the payment comes in the form of a future fly-in Alaska moose hunt. I think that's a pretty fair trade for a shop full of handcrafted log beds!

Next week, I'm hoping to wrap up this order and sneak away during the peak of Alaska's Kenai River sockeye salmon run. After that, michele bravi I'll take you along as we fly these beds out to a remote fly-in Alaska lodge, unload them, and assemble everything in the Alaskan bush.
