After Kansas City got the scoring started with a solo home run by Vinnie Pasquantino in the bottom of the first inning, Luis Robert Jr. responded with a crushed ball to left field to tie the game at 1-1. In the top of the sixth inning, Lenyn Sosa hit a line drive to left field for a double. Andrew Vaughn followed with a 2-run shot to left field, giving the White Sox a 3-1 lead. The White Sox added one more run in with a Seby Zavala RBI double which scored Hanser Alberto after his double to start the inning. Lucas Giolito earned the win with six strong innings and 9 strikeouts. Joe Kelly, Reynaldo López, and Kendall Graveman closed out the game with 2 strikeouts and no hits to secure the win. The Chicago White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-2 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The White Sox will play the next two games of the series against the Royals on May 10 and May 11.
