The headlines made it sound like the annual flu vaccine became optional across the board for Service Members. That’s only part of the story. The Navy’s new policy still requires influenza vaccination for certain groups, including personnel in initial entry training, many healthcare workers, Sailors deploying to locations with vaccination requirements, and some Reserve personnel.
