Pirates Recalled Tyler Callihan-Optioned outfielder Esmerlyn Valdez to Indianapolis-Lose 7-2 To Cubs [JfXS6YzPAkD]

Per the Pittsburgh Pirates: “Today recalled infielder/outfielder Tyler Callihan from Triple-A Indianapolis and optioned outfielder Esmerlyn Valdez to Indianapolis. The 25-year-old Callihan batted .223 (42-for-188) with six doubles, five home runs, 16 RBI, 22 walks, eight stolen bases and 30 runs scored in 49 games with the Indians prior to his promotion. Callihan, who was acquired from Cincinnati for right-handed pitcher Kyle Nicolas on March 4, played in his first four Major League games last season with the Reds (April 30-May 5), going 1-for-6 with an RBI. He suffered a season-ending, left forearm fracture after colliding with an outfield wall on May 5 at Atlanta.” Tyler played in the game against the Cubs as the Pirates loss 7-2, however, Tyler did go 1 for 2 with a double and RBI.
